  1. Disabling the scrolling page number

There should be an option to disable the grey page number box from constantly showing and then disappearing when using the online reader. It's distracting and it makes online reader inaccessible to us who have difficulties with visual attention.

  2. When I run a title match I want it to tell me the titles that don't match as well as those that do,

At the moment I have to undertake manual work to find the titles that didn't match. This takes a considerable amount of time, so would like the non-matching titles to be identified

  3. Patrons are notified when their 5 minute browse expires; Patrons are notified when a book is available

    Over-the-license-limit-ebook access
ProQuest allows patrons to use an e-book with limited licenses to have 5 minutes of access even if no license is available. I would suggest that such users get a notification that they have "limited" access to the book and a count-down click to show them the remaining access. If a license becomes available during those 5 minutes, a pop-up window can appear to inform them that they now have full access. If the five minutes are up, the patron should have the option to enter an e-mail or cell phone number to receive notification when a license…

  6. Improvement of the EPUB format interface.

It would be great if the EPUB format interface can be changed to be as similar as possible as the most common ebook interface that the majority of ebooks in EBC has got. An example is to have the table of contents to the left.

The current interface for EPUB ebooks is not so easy to understand when the reader is used to the more common one.

We also think, when setting the downloads to 0 for an EPUB ebook, (due to the current covid-19 we want to do that, so that as many users as possible can read it…

  7. Allow the ability to change the extended access settings for individual titles

This has come up when new editions of owned copies of titles come out. We don't want to turn off the visibility of the owned copy but we also don't want to trigger additional upgrades or purchases.

  9. Move the carousel up to the top.

Those of us that don't have many titles, we would like to showcase them at the top. A little overwhelming, if this is your first time to the website then you start searching and don't find a title. Users may become frustrated.

  10. Patrons can share annotations

Users should be able to share highlights/annotations on a book. This is useful if a professor wants to share their notes on a book, or have everyone read and note-take together. See hypothes.is for the type of functionality we're looking for (we can't even use hypothes.is in Ebook Central as a workaround, because we can't select text normally). Thanks!

Ebook downloads are very complicated and non-intuitive. Please walk us through the exact process using both a Mac and a PC.

  12. DDA and non-linear e-books in OCLC collection manager

We have a DDA with ProQuest and an autofeed for ProQuest content in OCLC collection manager. It occured to us that when the credits points of a non-linear book are spent before the 325 days of usage have been reached and the publication is temporarily not available the title remains visible in OCLC discovery as 'purchased'. Ideally the title should be migrated from the 'purchased' to the 'DDA' collection during the time the title is not available, and moved back to the purchased collection as soon as new 'credit points' have been assigned

  13. Allow folders we create to be re-arranged by the user.

Right now folders simply appear in the order created. I have many different ones, for classes and research projects. Sometimes an existing folder is too general with too many books, and I create "sub" folders, but I can't cluster them. I also can't move the folders that I'm currently using the most to the top so I don't have to keep looking for them.

  14. Patrons can export highlights

I'd like to get PDFs with my comments and highlights
I would like to be able to print out or create PDFs of Ebook Central’s books with the highlights and comments that I leave on my Bookshelf Account. Currently, the created PDFs cannot show any annotations I leave on the books. It will be very nice to have the option of displaying the highlights in the PDFs as they are added and showing the comments on either left or right side of the file.

  15. We have disabled the “Download Book” link for ProQuest ebooks. Is there any way to have this button removed from the item page? We’ve found

We have disabled functionality of the “Download Book” option in Ebook Central. We would like to suggest the option to also have this button removed from pages for titles when this function is disabled. Having it appear on this page when the function is disabled is proving to be confusing for some of our students, and we have received several complaints.

  16. Select PDF or EPUB

If an ebook is available in both PDF and EPUB format, the reader displays the PDF only. You have no chance to display the EPUB format. It would be very helpful for mobile device to have the opportunity to select which format should be displayed and downloaded.

  17. Alter the default Subject wording when "sending" an eBook folder

Currently says "An eBooks folder has been sent to you". To the receiver it appears to come from ebooksupport @ proquest. . . with no hint as to actual sender unless they have altered the message! Would be more helpful if it could be: [Your Name] has sent you an eBooks folder

Where Your Name is in italics or perhaps even . . .has sent you an eBooks folder so hopefully prompting the sender to edit.

  18. Referral Statistics

We would find it helpful if there is a way to get referral statistics for Ebook Central under LibCentral's self-service options. This would benefit institutions looking at the various ways they're providing access to Ebook Central titles, and are hoping to get statistics to see how library users are discovering and linking to ebook holdings.

  19. Block access to notes during digital exams

We sometimes allow our students to access (specific) online books during examination. However, one of our students pointed out that he could then also access his notes (thus, prepare specific notes for fraudulent behavior). We then further realized students could also share their notes, add their answers during the exam in the form of a note and share them with other students. This is an unwanted situation and we would like to request a way to temporarily block access to notes during an exam. (Alternatively, we could download a copy, which is what I did today. However, since there is…
