More actively encourage or incentivize publishers to ensure that mathematical content in their e-books are accessible to persons who are blind or visually impaired. This can be done by including equations formatted as MathML (rather than just text or images of equations) and by including detailed descriptions of graphs as alt-text. Since eBook Central is situated between users and publishrs, it is in a strong position to help advocate for this type of improved accessibility.1 vote
Making eBooks purchased on Ebook Central available for reading and annotating on the social reading platform "Lectory"1 vote
Our faculty work sometimes from campus and sometimes from home and send permalinks to students who may be on or off campus. The permalinks will only consistently work if they are proxied all the time. Our faculty or students are not going to think to check the URL every time...mainly because every other vendor we use just allows us to turn on proxied version 100% of the time regardless of where they are when they are accessing the resource so they don't have to think about it.4 votes
Perusall.com is an online tool for flipped classroom teaching where students can collaboratively annotate the textbook for reading assignments. ProQuest should partner with Perusall to make eBook licenses purchased by universities work in Perusall's course content.1 vote
Academic customers can only really use eBooks if there are page numbers included in the files. It would be great if you could ask publishers to think about that when delivering the data - If a title is to be incluced in an academic project, is has to be citable.2 votes

It would be great if customers could get KBART of their holdings. It would help in maintaining collections in discovery systems.12 votes

Just wanted to send a short note to let you know that there is already a way to request a customized list.
In LibCentral, if you scroll to the end of the Curated Topics list, there is a link – “Request your customized list now”. If you click this, it will take you to a form where you can make a detailed request for a list on a particular subject.
The request will go straight to our team of librarians, who will then work to create a list to spec.
Thanks for the Idea and the votes!
I wish libraries could host ebooks they own on the Ebook Central platform. Sometimes we purchase ebook files directly from publishers that don't have their own platform and it would be great if we could host them on Ebook Central. This could be a value added benefit for Academic Complete customers. Alexander Street offers free video hosting for Academic Video Online customers.9 votes

The Bookshelf function is a brilliant function of Ebook Central. I work in a support role for Jisc, and we use Ebook Central to host our collection of e-books for FE. I created several Bookshelves to divide our collection into subject and qualification areas, but was disappointed to learn that I would not be able to share these with different organisations, I could only share them within Jisc. This is disappointing because it would be a fantastic support mechanism for Jisc's librarian members in the UK. Our members often don't have the time to create these Bookshelves themselves, and therefore this great tool is not being fully utilised. I have received feedback from many members that they would love us to be able to share our Bookshelves. The benefits would be an invaluable support tool for members, and this would enable more learners to access these titles because they become easily discoverable

ProQuest Ebook Central is piloting SimplyE and investigating other applications as a preferred replacement for Adobe Digital Editions.
A user notification should be implemented in the library. This could contain a message such as “You have been timed out due to inactivity. To restart your session please return to https://URL.com and click the link to ebook central".2 votes

The detailed index/thesaurus would allow me to search more specifically by the criteria ProQuest uses in the indexing process--for example, if there are specific subject classifications. I would want to be able to either start typing a word in the index search bar to find a term or be able to browse alphabetically, then click on the term, which would either hyperlink to records containing that term or be able to add the term to the advanced search.1 vote
Thank you for your feedback! Is this request for LibCentral, Ebook Central or both?
