Change Full Download Options
The behavior for downloads is confusing. If you download a chapter, you get a PDF document. When you are downloading the book and are offered a selection of e-Pub and PDF, no matter what you chose, you always get an .acsm file for Adobe Digital editions to retrieve the information. Students do not understand that the only thing you are choosing is how the scrolling will be: e-pub (side to side) and PDF (up and down). They are looking for a PDF document. Solution - Add descriptors? Change the choices? Change choices from e-pub & PDF to:
- Side-to-side scrolling…1 vote -
Encourage/incentivize use of MathML to ensure better access for persons who are blind
More actively encourage or incentivize publishers to ensure that mathematical content in their e-books are accessible to persons who are blind or visually impaired. This can be done by including equations formatted as MathML (rather than just text or images of equations) and by including detailed descriptions of graphs as alt-text. Since eBook Central is situated between users and publishrs, it is in a strong position to help advocate for this type of improved accessibility.

Permalinks need to have the option to always include proxy info
Our faculty work sometimes from campus and sometimes from home and send permalinks to students who may be on or off campus. The permalinks will only consistently work if they are proxied all the time. Our faculty or students are not going to think to check the URL every time...mainly because every other vendor we use just allows us to turn on proxied version 100% of the time regardless of where they are when they are accessing the resource so they don't have to think about it.

Partner with Perusall.com to make Proquest ebooks available there.
Perusall.com is an online tool for flipped classroom teaching where students can collaboratively annotate the textbook for reading assignments. ProQuest should partner with Perusall to make eBook licenses purchased by universities work in Perusall's course content.

Offer KBART to customers
It would be great if customers could get KBART of their holdings. It would help in maintaining collections in discovery systems.

Hello voters!
Just wanted to send a short note to let you know that there is already a way to request a customized list.
In LibCentral, if you scroll to the end of the Curated Topics list, there is a link – “Request your customized list now”. If you click this, it will take you to a form where you can make a detailed request for a list on a particular subject.
The request will go straight to our team of librarians, who will then work to create a list to spec.
Thanks for the Idea and the votes!

Allow Libraries to host ebooks they own
I wish libraries could host ebooks they own on the Ebook Central platform. Sometimes we purchase ebook files directly from publishers that don't have their own platform and it would be great if we could host them on Ebook Central. This could be a value added benefit for Academic Complete customers. Alexander Street offers free video hosting for Academic Video Online customers.

Make the Bookshelf function shareable across institutions
The Bookshelf function is a brilliant function of Ebook Central. I work in a support role for Jisc, and we use Ebook Central to host our collection of e-books for FE. I created several Bookshelves to divide our collection into subject and qualification areas, but was disappointed to learn that I would not be able to share these with different organisations, I could only share them within Jisc. This is disappointing because it would be a fantastic support mechanism for Jisc's librarian members in the UK. Our members often don't have the time to create these Bookshelves themselves, and therefore this great tool…

Find alternate solutions to manage downloads.
Find alternate solutions to manage downloads. Our license is with you, not Adobe. We should not have to give Adobe our employees' data in order for employees to be able to download fulltext books we have licensed from you.

Show patrons all prices! (ATO and non-mediated prices are missing atm)
Currently patrons do not see prices for ATO Loans or when non-mediated processes (non-mediates STL or autopurchase) are defined.

Would like to see an index/thesaurus in the advanced search section.
The detailed index/thesaurus would allow me to search more specifically by the criteria ProQuest uses in the indexing process--for example, if there are specific subject classifications. I would want to be able to either start typing a word in the index search bar to find a term or be able to browse alphabetically, then click on the term, which would either hyperlink to records containing that term or be able to add the term to the advanced search.
