ETD Admin
Welcome to the ETD Admin Forum. You are invited to help us improve ETD Admin by posting, commenting and voting on ideas.
All we require is your name and a professional (work) email address then you are ready to submit, review and vote. Our ETD Admin Forum is open for all ETD Admin users.
Tips:
- For customer support or to report a bug, please visit support.proquest.com
- An idea can be deleted if you’ve submitted it and no one has voted or commented on it.
We will read every post, although we may not be able to respond to every idea or comment submitted. This information will provide our development team with valuable input on priorities for ETD Admin improvements.

Customize embargo reasons in drop-down menu
As an ETD administrator for my institution I would like to be able to create embargo reasons for my IR that align with the standard reasons we recognize at our institution. In the dropdown "reasons" menu, it would be useful to be able to customize this list of reasons.

Limit Degree Date Month options
Degree Date Field during student submission: allow to edit the options in the Month dropdown to include only certain months. Our school confers degrees only in the months of November, March and May. Having all months listed allows for errors as students may choose the wrong month and then it needs to be corrected.

Change language of standing order from "library copy"
Not all standing orders go to the library, so this language can be confusing. Request to update the language to reflect "school" or "department" or something less specific.

In ETD Details, allow choice to display ORCID as https rather than http
We do a lot of copy/pasting from the page, and need to use https for ORCIDs. Having an option for it to always be there would be helpful.

Allow One-Time Data Entry of Multiple ETD Department Names
Allow more than one department to be added/edited/removed at a time.
This can be accomplished by adding functionality like the Data Validation Drop-Down List feature in Excel. Department names can be entered on one line, each separated by a comma, and then saved to create a final drop-down list.
Or add functionality for uploading and downloading of CSV text files allowing data to be saved in an ETD department list table structured format. The csv file can be created automatically when a new ETD site build request form is submitted for processing.
Benefits:
1 - Reduce time tech support spends…

Option to hide "Ready for delivery" items on Active ETDs list
When displaying the Active ETDs list, a toggle for "include Ready for delivery" items would be helpful. RfD items accumulate very quickly, especially close to the deadline, but for various reasons we might not actually want to deliver them right away.

Add document upload functionality to administrative documents page
The administrative documents section is intended as a spot to upload university-specific documents, but there isn't a way to attach documents in the prompt. Consider adding an "attach" function so that admins can add blank versions of the document to the prompt (so that it is easily accessible to students, instead of requiring hyperlinks in the prompt, or for students to have to retrieve it elsewhere.

Create a Student Checklist
In addition to the checklist that admins use, it would be nice for the admin to be able to create a student checklist that the student must check off before a thesis/dissertation can be submitted for review.
For example, our students must have included a signed title page in the manuscript, or they must have included a signed/dated institutional library release, etc. This “actionable” checklist can be a part of submission requirements that must be checked off by the student before the student is allowed to submit the manuscript for review. This will cut down on a lot of “decision”…
