ETD Author Writing Toolkit
Add support for, or integration with, an author tool that would allow me to focus on creating quality content, and worry less about formatting.
- provide base formatting templates, including customer "sanctioned" versions for my university
- support for committed reviews of drafts

commentedOur staff spend time reviewing for formatting requirements of front matter and back matter and margins. We provide Word and LaTex templates for students to use but some still miss the requirements. It would be nice if there is a feature that checks for the formatting before it can be submitted.

commentedMy institution allows students to submit their dissertations at the end of their graduating term and, many times, their manuscript isn't 100% complete although it may look that way to me. Often, I come across a situation where all formatting and content passes, so I accept the manuscript, only to have the student contact me to say they still have further edits to make, thereby causing me to need to return the manuscript to the student. It would be nice for the student to be able to indicate during the submission process whether the version they're uploading is still a draft, or if it is a final that can be processed for approval. This would save a lot of time for me while I am reviewing other submissions at the end of each term, and it would minimize confusion and frustration.
