Include a way to return to the results list when you are previewing a book. Currently the only way back is to use your browser back button, and then you see a back to results list.

  4. "Load Period" to be hidden for messages of book purchase

Could the "Loan Period" shown in the automatic message template be hidden for the libraries who only adopt DDA book purchase model?

The item "Loan Period" confuses the users about accessing the books.

  5. Highlight on mobile

Currently, to highlight on a mobile device such as an iPad, each word has to be tapped individually. This is very time consuming and laborious. I would like to see the ability to highlight multiple words at once as is possible on a computer, for example dragging across the screen with a finger and/or mobile pencil to highlight the desired portion.

I use digital textbooks as an affordable and convenient alternative to hard copies and having them on my iPad makes them easy to access and interact with. I believe this would benefit many students as iPads continue to increase…

  6. Academic Complete package creates bespoke links to topic areas within the subscription database e.g. Diversity Equality Inclusion

That the Academic Complete package creates bespoke links to topic areas within the subscription database such as the Diversity Equality Inclusion Collection title lists. Such bespoke searchable collection links could easily be copied and inserted in to Library marketing/social media communications and promotions on Awareness days such as International Women’s Day. Also collection links set up for perpetual access University funded Customized Collections such as The Self-Care Collection. This would increase visibility of the individual collection, target key audiences, increase value for money and promotes the ProQuest product across a new wider audience resulting in greatly increased usage.

  7. Username Login Prompt

Include a prompt on the login page that helps a user remember that their username could actually be their email address. Too many users forget their username (especially over the summer break) and then create new accounts and are shocked when they cannot find their bookshelf. Having some kind of prompt is ideal.

  8. Remove requirement for patrons to log in when downloading a DRM free title.

I would like to see the removal of th requirement for users to login on title that are DRM-free. I see this as removing an extra step and relieving some of the frustrations that some of our users experience.

  9. granular AI client settings

We have fairly granular settings for some things with PQ ebooks, but turning off the AI client is all or nothing.  Any consideration for allowing a toggle at the book level for the AI client? Came up because a professor didn't want his students using the AI client for a book that was being used for a class. I wouldn't want to turn the feature off for everybody/all books to just accommodate one faculty member.

  10. Clearly label Research Assistant as AI powered

Hi - many of our students are prohibited from using generative AI tools in their coursework. Currently, it is not clear from name of the feature (Research Assistant) or from the landing page that students see that this is a generative AI tool. It is only once a students selects Show Concepts or Key Takeaways that there is a small label indicating it is AI generated, but by then a student has inadvertently broken the rules. There is also nothing about how the takeways and concepts are identified in the help section for users (apologies if I missed it)

  11. The AI Research Assistent answers in a confusing mix of languages

Maybe you could add to the AI's system prompt that the answer's language should be in the language of the user's language setting. In my case, it keeps on switching randomly between German and English which is confusing. Furthermore, translating the UI of the Assistent to the user's language setting would also be ideal. Those reasons are keeping my library from enabling the assistent

  12. Ebook Central Research Assistant (AI)

It would be interesting to be able to know if the book is open to AI before being read in book page. By exemple, if the information is indicated in the same location as the book's details, such as the number of pages that can be printed, the description, the table of contents, and so on.

  13. Add a public note field on eBook records.

We'd like to add a public note to individual titles explaining why they have a different download model than the rest of our holdings. For example, the textbooks we purchase are all unlimited use, but with no download permissions. We'd like to have a public note field explaining why the user is unable to download that book.

  14. Refine search by Audience, e.g. Adult or Juvenile.

When I run a query on ProQuest Ebooks with the keyword "India," for example, the first results I get are clearly written for a juvenile audience. It wouldn't be appropriate for high school students to cite those results for an assignment and yet it could be easy for them to unwittingly use those titles. Likewise, a middle schooler conducting research on India should be able to filter for results that best match her reading level / age. The lack of this distinction is a significant issue and something that could substantially limit student use.

  15. Put subject facets in alphabetical order and collapsed

Current facet choices for subjects is frustrating. Instead of listing them in a drop down menu in popularity order, it would be more helpful in alphabetical order. Collapse all the facets that start with the same word and have a drill down from that word.

  16. Provide a way to suppress the entire "Book Status" area from the "Refine Your Search" menu. We don't use this area, so it confuses users

Please provide a way to suppress the entire "Book Status" area from the "Refine Your Search" menu. We don't use this area (we don't have an ILS, use courses reserves, or DDA), so it confuses users.

  17. Enable a "select all" for Patron Requests

It would be a time saver if we could "select all" from the Patron Requests list. Currently each box must be checked individually, which is a time consuming process.

  18. Please can Russian/Ukraian be added to the language settings?

Currently Russian/Ukrainian is not a alternative choice, due to the recent conflict, our college has had a high intake of learners, it would be extremely useful to hv this additional language added to eBook central

  20. Modify the label of "Settings" and "Language"

My client suggests it's hard for them to get back to original language settings from other language settings.
Because they can't understand the meanings of other language label.
So I have 3 options to resolve the issue.
1.Put English menu next to original label. Ex. 設定:Settings, 使用言語:Launguage
2.Put images to each menu. Ex. Gear mark for Settings, globe mark for Language
    3. Place a language setting menu to top page menu bar like a Web of science.
These would help clients to understand the meanings intuitively.

As part of our ongoing commitment to a modern and intuitive platform, we have simplified and added icons to the global navigation bar. At present, these updates will only be visible on the Search Results page. However, as we progress with our updates, they will appear in additional locations throughout Ebook Central.
