Patrons can share annotations
Users should be able to share highlights/annotations on a book. This is useful if a professor wants to share their notes on a book, or have everyone read and note-take together. See hypothes.is for the type of functionality we're looking for (we can't even use hypothes.is in Ebook Central as a workaround, because we can't select text normally). Thanks!

Alli Martel commented Our faculty are looking into integrating texts with Hypothes.is as well. Please consider this sooner rather than later as it would be a huge boon to our students' learning.

commentedYes, we are seeing faculty wanting this feature. Integration with Perusall would also be appreciated.

commentedI am using hypothes.is extensively due to teaching online. I need to be able to download chapters so that I can then copy them with different footprints in order to upload them into hypothes.is for small groups to do group annotations.

commentedIntegration with hypothes.is or similar functions so discussions could be held inside the textbooks would be great.

commentedThis would be INCREDIBLY helpful to us as well. It would be even better if you could have shared annotations (could you integrate with the hypothesis app?).

commentedPlease enhance the sharing capability of Ebook Central so that I can share the highlights and comments that I leave on the books within my Bookshelf Account with my students. I teach Library & Information Science to both under-graduate and post-graduate students. Currently, within my classes, I need to log into my Ebook Central account; open the books with my annotations; and show them on the screen to the students. Although I’m not a user, I heard that New RefWorks has the capability of sharing the highlights and comments with other users. I would like to see the same functionality with Ebook Central’s books.
