   We've actually been trying to push for this being removed; it's an administrative field, not one that should be populated by students. We have students who submit in Fall, but don't have their degree conferral until the Spring making the whole date wrong. I'm not sure how it works at other campuses, but our degree award date is consistent with the date the approval decision is registered.
