Single IR embargo drives ProQuest embargo restrictions
As a manager of an IR, I would like to have students to be presented with a single embargo option aligned with the IR policy that would then drive the embargo on the PQ platform.

@Diane, how are you identifying if an item has an embargo on it? We've just run across an issue where items with embargoes on them are being ingested into our IR via SWORD. We'd like to be able to easily identify those items and hide them from public view until the embargo is up, but i'm not seeing an obvious way to do that in ETD admin or in our IR.

I don't know if this is an option that would work for you, but my institution just removed the IR embargo from the list of options, and we just use the requested PQ as the IR embargo as well. If they don't want their work to appear on Proquest, a restricted database, we think it's safe to assume they don't want it on an open-access database either.

As a manager of an IR, I would like to have students to be presented with a single embargo option that would set the embargo for ProQuest and the IR publishing to be the same. This would be offered as a single IR embargo option that would drive the ProQuest embargo settings automatically.

Currently we have 46 sites currently using the free-form text IR Access Options and 86 sites using IR Embargoes (with definitely overlap where a site has both enabled) of 1040 ETD Admin sites.
