Display access model on the patron site
Currently patrons do not know what access model we have for the ebooks on Ebook Central. Enhance the platfrom to indicate for patrons the access model of the ebook (DDA, subscription, perpetual, etc).

Session Length Online Reader
The session length of 30 minutes of inactivity before you are automatically removed from a title is too short to really be able to concentrate on your study work. As a user, it is exhausting to look for the spot where you stopped every time your session ended throughout the title.
Might it be possible to make the session longer or to set up a pop-up window so that you are at least warned before the session ends?

Allow left-hand menu to be hidden in text only mode to support enlarging text
When using text-only mode the text of the book can be enlarged using browser zoom to a higher level than when text-only mode is disabled (when using Read Online or download views). For visually impaired users who need to enlarge text to a higher level of magnification than non text-only Read Online or downloads will allow, text-only mode should meet this need. However, as the text is enlarged using browser zoom the left-hand menu (containing table of contents, search etc) also increases in size, covering the book content. Show upcoming title removals to users within EBC
Display a note on records letting people know when eBook titles will be removed from the collection, similar to how Netflix and other streaming services let people know that a movie is leaving the service. This will help prevent “surprise” removal from the collection by helping end-users identify when titles are leaving, and give institutions an opportunity to find alternate access to the title or a substitute.

Patrons can see when a newer edition is available

Persist Zoom Level
Every time when opening an Ebook (or re-load it after the session timed out once again ...) I have to adjust the zoom level to get an appropriate zoom level for my display. I use either my laptop display or an external monitor (4K). In either case the zoom level is too high, s.t. I have to zoom out first.
The following features would ease that (mild) pain:
best: have the zoom level persisted in the browser's local storage
good: make the zoom level a request parameter, s.t. I can have the zoom level fixed via bookmark

When Accessibility Mode has been enabled, return the user to their previous location.
Currently users are returned to an Ebook Central search page. From there they have to search for, correctly identify and re-access the book they were reading, and navigate back to the location within the book where they were when they changed their accessibility setting. For users who navigated in via their institution's Catalogue record for the book, this can be confusing and disorienting.

Patrons can export EBC search results
Export EBC Search Results to Excel/CSV
It would be helpful if end users could export their Ebook Central search results (and accompanying metadata) to Excel/CSV files. Better Search Experience - Some Miscellaneous Ideas for Finding Content More Effectively
A set of ideas from a librarian who would love to see enhancements to the search interface and the lists that are provided within the system.
Who is curating the list?
How often is it updated?
How is it updated/description of what’s on the list
More specific lists (i.e. Social Justice is great, but it’s way too broad for practical reasons and should be narrower by specific SJ topic)Better filtering:

Community Selections/Picks
Highlights/Spotlights around specific events or contexts
Promotions/Sale Items
Review ratings (like Amazon)

Linking and re-running search
We'd like to be able to link into Ebook Central from another ebook database and re-run the same search on Ebook Central that was just performed on that other database

Add setting to allow removing 'Cite Book' option on Ebook Central
Harvard Referencing on Ebook Central does not match the Harvard referencing style used at our institution. This can sometimes cause confusion and inaccurate details on students' reference pages.

To send notification when a book is about to be returned online
It would be good if users got a notification when a book they were borrowing online was about to be returned. We have users that have lost notes because they made notes on Adobe DE and then when the book was returned and then re-loaned the notes were not there.

Include subtitles in display for items added to a bookshelf.
Items on an Ebook Central Bookshelf are displayed using the title only; the subtitle is omitted. This means that if items share a title it is difficult to differentiate them when they are on the same Bookshelf, for example items that belong to the same series.

By adding information about the licence model on the Detail page
Improve usability by adding information on the Detail page for books purchased under a NL model that the options “Download PDF Chapter” and “Download PDF” in ToC does not work unless you first Download the book (check-out). As I was told when asking about it, this information is available in Libcentral. However, endusers does not have access to Libcentral. I would also suggest that you change “Download Book” on the Detail page to “Download Book (check-out)”. As a librarian I understand what check-out means and so does teachers and researchers, but necessarily not new students with low library skills. Think…

Discovery of resources - browse subjects
We have a strong curriculum of Arts and Performing Arts, particularly Dance, at our institution. Could Performing Arts - and Dance - be added to the 'Browse Subjects' page to make it easier for academics and students to engage with texts in those areas? There are already ones which have been created for Architecture and Fine Arts, which are very helpful.
